Marta Llopis is a biologist specialising in Microbiology and holds a PhD in Internal Medicine. She has a well-established international career in the field of the microbiome. She combines high-impact biomedical research with experience in the private sector. Throughout her career, she has focused on the role of microbiota in various pathologies, developing a practical understanding of its clinical potential. Her experience at leading European centres such as VHIR, MetaGenoPolis, Biocenter Kuopio and IDIBAPS is reflected in her substantial scientific output: she has had 26 articles published in top-tier journals. She is renowned for her ability to transform scientific knowledge into actionable evidence in international, multidisciplinary and challenging environments.
She has also applied her expertise to the business sector at SYNLAB-Eurofins, where she has led the development and international expansion of innovative, microbiome-based solutions. Her scientific rigour, strategic approach and focus on making an impact position her to drive the global growth of advanced metagenomics and microbiome proposals.
