Alvaro Montesinos

Álvaro holds a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a degree in Biotechnology from the University of Zaragoza, as well as a Master’s degree in Microbiology from the Universidad Autonoma of Madrid.

He began his research career in clinical microbiology and later completed his doctoral thesis on plant genetic improvement. Through this work and his postdoctoral studies, he gained solid experience in genomics and transcriptomics. Following his time in the academia, he moved into the industrial sector, getting a global perspective on the technical and functional requirements of different environments and consolidating his experience with a variety of omic technologies.

He is currently a Microbiome Specialist at Microomics, advising researchers and companies on how to achieve their scientific objectives by selecting the most appropriate applications for their needs.
